About Shreyansanath Bhagwan
The eleventh light among the twenty-four Tirthankaras of the present Avasarpini — born in Simhapuri, raised in royal grace, awakened in silence and liberated as Siddha.
A soul of silent radiance
In the unbroken succession of twenty-four Tirthankaras who illumine the Jain cosmology of this Avasarpini, Shreyansanath Bhagwan stands as the eleventh — a soul whose name itself carries the meaning of auspiciousness, well-being and the nearness of liberation.
He was born to King Vishnu and Queen Vishna in the radiant city of Simhapuri, near present-day Sarnath. As a scion of the noble Ikshvaku dynasty — the same lineage that has nurtured countless luminaries across the ages — His arrival upon earth was marked with the auspicious dreams and divine omens that herald the coming of a Tirthankara.
From royal palaces to the quiet of forest meditation, His life became a teaching in motion: an unbroken thread of compassion, discipline and inward attention. In time, the silent fires of tapas consumed every veil of karma, and He attained the eternal, unconditioned state of the Siddha — the liberated soul.
